The problem

Non-clinical procurement falls between the cracks.

Hospital systems have dedicated GPO-driven procurement. Outpatient clinics, dental offices, urgent care, veterinary practices, and corporate first-aid sit in between: too small for a GPO, too specialized for office-supply distributors. Most end up buying piecemeal across Henry Schein, Amazon, local distributors, and whoever the rep walked in last.

Specialty distributor minimums hurt.

Henry Schein and similar specialty channels have minimum order thresholds and onboarding friction that do not fit a 5-doctor outpatient clinic doing $80K of supply annually. The clinic ends up paying retail at the local pharmacy supply for top-up.

Sterilization documentation matters.

Autoclave indicators, biological indicators, sterilization pouches all have shelf-life and chemical-indicator-spec requirements. A substitution that "looks the same" can fail Joint Commission or state-board inspection.

Glove allocation by exam type.

Exam-grade nitrile is not the same as chemo-rated. Latex still works for some applications. Vinyl is okay for short-duration food handling but not exam. Most reorder lists treat all gloves as one SKU and end up wasting on premium for low-stakes use.

Reordering cadence is volatile.

Flu season changes mask and glove consumption 3x. Summer drops it. Most clinics either run out or sit on excess. Coordinated reorder against actual run rate is rare.

Common scenarios

Where non-clinical buyers use us.

Outpatient clinic monthly supply

5-doctor clinic, dental office, urgent care, vet practice. Monthly or quarterly reorder of exam supplies, gloves, masks, gauze, disinfectants. Avoiding GPO onboarding overhead.

Lab consumables for research / biotech

Pipette tips, tubes, vials, slides on standing PO. Cold-chain shipping when relevant. Often combined with packaging order for sample shipping (compostable mailers, cryo-shipping kits).

Corporate first-aid program

ANSI-compliant first-aid cabinet refresh across offices, plants, job sites. AED batteries and pads on 3-year cycle. Bloodborne pathogen kit refresh annually.

School and educational nursing offices

K-12 and higher-ed nurse office supply. Exam gloves, gauze, masks, ice packs, first-aid kits, AED pads. Often bid through state cooperative pricing.

Hospital non-clinical operational supply

Even hospital systems with GPO contracts have gap categories (patient hospitality, custodial-medical crossover, specialty lab) that are easier to source independently.

Senior living and memory care

Assisted-living and memory-care facilities have similar non-clinical needs: incontinence supplies, exam gloves, infection control, hand hygiene, first-aid. Outside the hospital-GPO universe.

FAQ

Medical non-clinical sourcing questions.

What does "non-clinical" actually mean?

Consumable, single-use, and facility-grade items that support clinical operations but are not themselves diagnostic or therapeutic. Exam supplies, infection control, biohazard, sterilization, lab consumables, hand hygiene. We do not sell prescription products, controlled medications, or implantable devices.

What grades of exam gloves do you stock?

Nitrile (exam and clinical), chemo-rated nitrile (ASTM D6978), latex (powder-free, low-protein), vinyl, polyethylene. Ansell Microflex, Halyard Purple, KC Sterling, Medline Sensicare, Cardinal Esteem.

Do you supply autoclave bags and sterilization supplies?

Yes. Autoclave bags, biohazard autoclave bags, indicator tape, sterilization pouches, CSR wrap, biological indicators, integrators, chemical indicator strips.

Can you handle sharps containers and biohazard waste containers?

Yes. Sharps containers 1 qt to 18 gal. Red biohazard bags. Pathology containers. We do not haul waste (requires licensed medical waste service); we supply containers.

What about EPA hospital-grade disinfectants?

Clorox Healthcare, Diversey Oxivir / Virex, PDI Sani-Cloth, CaviCide / CaviWipes, Wexford Labs. EPA registration numbers, kill claims, SDS available.

Do you supply hand sanitizer programs?

Yes. FDA OTC monograph compliant. PURELL, GOJO, Dial. Bulk refills and dispenser programs.

Can you supply outpatient and dental office consumables?

Yes. Dental bibs, headrest covers, suction tips, sterilization pouches, exam gloves, masks. Outpatient: exam paper, BP cuffs, otoscope sleeves, gauze, tape.

How does ordering compare to Henry Schein or McKesson?

We do not replace specialty distributors for the high-acuity clinical lines. For consumables, infection control, and non-clinical operational supply, we are typically faster to onboard and more flexible on order size, with comparable pricing on commodity SKUs.
